The proportion of people to provide prehospital emergency care
Špačková, Barbora ; Eislerová, Iva (advisor) ; Pekara, Jaroslav (referee)
Bachelor thesis drala with providing pre-hospital emergency care. Specifically, I focused on the pupils of the 8th and 9th grades of primary schools and their teachers. Purpose of my thesis was to investigate the level theoretical knowledge of primary school pupils and theoretical knowledge and practical skills their teachers in first aid. Further work is to map where both groups obtained their knowledge. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is dividend into individua chapters that deal with first definition of the term first aid, itsdistribution and description of emergency services. Other chapters are then devoted to the general regularities providing first aid. The following is a brief description of each condition requiring first aid, focusing on the most common injuries of children of school age and their treatment. I mention also the intoxication by alcohol and drugs in this age group. The empirical section introduces the methodology and organization of research, I conducted a quantitative method in the form of a questionnaire survey in conjunction with practical drills of basic life support with the teachers. This theme extends to respiratory arrest and blood circulation. It also offers an evaluation of the data and finally an evaluation of the objectives.

Macháčková, Eva ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (referee) ; Marádová, Eva (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of safety and protection of children's health. It namely disserts on the occurrence of accidents among children, their prevention and provision of first aid in case of an accident or sudden damage to one's health . The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of accident occurrence among children and the scope of assertion of permanent active prevention with selected primary school pupils. The theoretical part contains epidemiological data concerning accident occurrence among children, types of accidents from the point of view of physical and psychological development of a child and the environment in which these accidents occur and selected preventive measures. Most attention is paid to school accident occurrence, safety and protection of pupils and incorporation of this issue in the Framework educational programme for basic education. It also provides a summary of legal aspects and recommended practices of first aid provision, including the current trends and introduction of educational programmes and courses intended for lay public. Children injuries in the home and during leisure activities (with special focus on Shaken baby syndrome)
PRŮCHOVÁ, Dominika
The injuries happening to children in the household or during leisure time activities constitute the most frequent injury types. The injuries caused by shaking constitute a specific group. The information of lay public in the Czech Republic with regard of the Shaken Baby Syndrome is almost at zero level. The basic precondition to reduce the injury rate consists in identification of risk factors causing the origination of the injury or making the individual vulnerable. The factors include environment, health, behaviour, socio-demographic and social factors. The goal of the thesis consists in mapping children injuries in the household and during leisure time activities. A partial goal consists in mapping the use of protective devices for injury prevention. Another goal of the thesis consists in mapping the information of the parents on the Shaken Baby Syndrome, as well as in mapping the techniques of comforting crying babies and the related parents' feelings. The research method consists in quantitative prospective research; two structured questionnaires are used for data collection. The data collection took place in 2009-14. The first questionnaire is focused on acquisition of information on child injuries in the household and during leisure time activities. The goal of the study consists in analyzing children's injuries in ages from 0 to 18 years. The second questionnaire is focused on the Shaken Baby Syndrome and consists of several partial areas: child crying, techniques of managing and comforting child crying, parents' feelings and level of information on Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). Based on the research results, the approach to primary prevention of children's injuries can be improved by increased observation of the child, by increased efficiency of preventive procedures, by increased dispensarization, control or increased efficiency of implemented primary injury prevention.
KNOWLEDGE OF PREMEDICAL FIRST AID REQUIRMENTS FOR TEACHERS IN NURSERY SCHOOL
KOVÁŘÍK, Ondřej
Bachelor thesis ?Premedical First Aid Knowledge Requirements for Teachers in Nursery Schools? summarises urgent conditions and diseases occurring primarily among preschool children. The theoretical part deals with selected injuries, from the most serious injuries (resuscitation, disorders of consciousness, suffocation) to the less serious ones (eg fractures). Pathophysiology, symptoms and finally providing of first aid is briefly described for each of the injuries. This part was described mandatory legislation for teachers regarding first aid education in this section. I used a content analysis of professional publications in this part of my thesis. The second part is practical and related to my research. The aim of the research was to find out level of first aid knowledge among teachers in nursery schools. I used a quantitative method in the form of questionnaires in my research. The questionnaire consisted of fourteen questions. These questionnaires were filled mostly by teachers during personal meetings in nursery schools near my residence in Brno. The research is processed with the charts and descriptions. The results of the answers are given as a percentage in each graph. The hypothesis, established at the beginning of the research, was not confirmed. Teaching staff have sufficient knowledge of first aid. However, they have lacks in innovations piece of knowledge first aid (CPR, choking). In these cases, most teachers would act based on outdated standards. Primarily right answers dominated in further points of the questionnaire. My surprising finding was that half of those surveyed teachers had never undergone any first aid training.
Nursing Care for Children´s Patients with Injuries with Stress on Perioperative Nurse
TRINKBAUEROVÁ, Eva
"Injury is defined as any unintentional or intentional damage to the body, which resulted from acute exposure to thermal, mechanical, electrical or chemical energy and the subsequent lack of necessary vital energy elements or variables, such as oxygen or heat" In everyday life we often encounter with slight injuries, but few of us are aware that accidents are not just fractures or bruises. The fact is, however, that accidents are annually responsible for three hundred of children's lives and are traditionally the most common cause of child deaths. One of the key persons involved in the rescue of handicapped children is a perioperative nurse. She fulfills the role of a provider of nursing care and the role of an educator, who has a crucial function in the child injury prevention programs, which can significantly influence the rate of child injuries in future. Field surveys were carried out with an objective to map current state of a perioperative nurse role and injured children treated in the operating room. This research results should lead to the minimization of discomfort and reduced perception of negative feelings experienced by children in the operating room plus to the introduction of this nursing process in the operating rooms, where this practice is not currently used.
Frequency and causes of injuries of children in pre-hospital emergency care
MINAŘÍKOVÁ, Petra
Injuries represent the greatest danger for children and the most frequent cause of their death. A certain dangerous situation precedes every injury and as such it can always be prevented. Emergency rescue teams provide professional urgent pre-hospital care. Based on theoretical knowledge and practical experience of a member of a rescue team providing pre-hospital urgent care, two research objectives were determined. Objective no. 1 was to map out the number of children{\crq}s injuries in the regional centre of České Budějovice between 2004-2008. Objective no. 2 was to analyze the situations in which children of various ages get injured. Three hypotheses were determined. Hypothesis no. 1 ``Children living in towns get injured more frequently than children in villages``, was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 2 ``Children up to 6 years of age most frequently suffer injuries when they are at home and their parents are not cautious enough``, was confirmed. The last determined hypothesis ``Children between 6 {--} 18 years of age get injured during active sports and traffic accidents most frequently``, was confirmed. It is more efficient to invest in preventative activities that reduce the number and seriousness of injuries in children. If we take measures to prevent injuries, the number of fatalities will go down.
